SYNOPSIS

A coming-of-age tale of fan fiction, family and first love.

Cath is a Simon Snow fan.

Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan...

But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.

Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.

Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.

Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words... And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone.

For Cath, the question is: Can she do this?

Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories?

And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

"Touching and utterly real." —  Publisher's Weekly

MY THOUGHTS
My thoughts can be practically summed up in just one GIF which is this:

So, I guessed you've heard of Fangirl since last year and have seen it being displayed on your local book stores shelves well, hallelujah to all the fangirls out there who read this since, I can fully relate to the book character in terms of Cath's love for books, how she would rather stay indoors, use her laptop rather than to go out in the outside world and party. Rainbow did a good job with this book as well as with her other novels.

The moment I read the title, I was hooked. Which I think was a good thing since a lot of fangirls can easily relate to this book, even me.

Fangirl told a story of a girl, who is emotionally and someone whom I could connect to. A girl who loves to hang out in her room all day than to expose herself to the outside world. She would rather write fanfiction about Simon Snow, than to attend a party. The freakiest part was the she was suffering and kept on eating protein bars so that she won't have to go to the canteen and undergo all that annoying socializing things we have to do when we're new. Well, it is mostly about a girl who's trying to survive college, without her friend/twin sister, since she is not in her comfort zone unlike her twin sister, Wren who is going out; discovering new things and being a freshman.

I really loved how the story was just so flowy. Heck, I even stayed up until 6AM reading it. It made me laugh, cry and giggle at the same time. The characters will bury themselves inside your heart that I felt like me heart was going to pop out any minute. My feelings for the characters still haven't change until now and I am proud of that. So, if you love to read fan fiction, a fangirl in any fandom, I am sure that you'll want this book like how you want your fave to (insert any word of your choice) you.

I'm signing off which calls for an
