SYNOPSIS
St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . .
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

MY THOUGHTS:
I only read Vampire Academy 2 months after the movie was out since I don't really love to read a lot of fantasy books or books about Vampires. To be frank, I love Sci-fi books but this book, the one and only Vampire book that made me stay up until 3AM. Richelle wrote it with such drama that teens could relate to. She modernized it with a twist of fantasy just like Twilight but Richelle's version is quite exquisite.
So, Rose is the main character in the book, who is a Dhampir- a bodyguard for Lissa. She's very strong in terms of personality, is bound to Lissa, who is Lissa's best friend.
Now, moving on so it is known that fictional characters are always hot and like damn. The book was so intense, dramatic and hot at the same time which was a pretty good mix that Richelle did. I loved how the feelings that you feel for this book never stopped until the end. I don't want to spoil things for you but damn the book was not even near to those typical vampires you fall in love with. The book was very atypical.
